Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have two-left feet and no sense of rhythm. Can I still learn to dance?

Trust us when we say we've never met anyone with two left feet. Our instructors happily work with people of all levels of ability. If you can breath you can dance. Come in for a half price intro lesson and we'll prove it to you.

  • Do I need any special clothing or shoes?

For beginning dancers, we recommend comfortable clothing and shoes that fit well, have good support, and have a smooth sole. As you advance in your dancing, you'll probably want to purchase your own dance shoes. You can order these through us at a discount.

  • How often should I schedule my lessons?

We encourage our students to follow a three-phase program so try to do at least one to two private lessons per week; at least one group class per week; and our Thursday night practice dance parties. Our ballroom dance packages all include group classes and practice parties.

  • What is a Practice Party?

Our Thursday Night Practice Parties are your chance to practice the dances you're learning in a relaxed, social atmosphere. You'll get to meet other dancers of all levels while dancing to a curated playlist of ballroom favorites. Parties start at 7:30 and end at 9:30 p.m. We have a 6:30 p.m. group class as well, so you can really make an evening of it. We provide snacks, sodas, bottled water, and beer—feel free to BYOB, too. Cover is $10 or one Blue Moon Ballroom punch-card punch (punch cards are supplied with lesson packages).

  • I am vaccinated—do I still need to wear a mask to my dance class?

We encourage you to wear a mask if you have an autoimmune disease or live with someone  at risk.
